What information do I actually need to bring?
Your exact date, time, and place of birth. The time matters more than most people expect: it sets the lagna, the rising sign that anchors the whole chart, and a lagna calculated from a wrong or rounded time can shift the reading in ways that are not obvious from the outside. If your birth certificate or a parent's memory gives you a precise time, bring that. If you only have an approximate time, say so upfront rather than guessing at a round number.
Do I need to bring a printed kundli or chart?
No, not for a first reading. A chart can be generated from your three birth details in the room. If you already have one from an earlier reading elsewhere, bringing it is useful context but not a requirement, and it will not be treated as more authoritative than freshly calculated placements.
Should I write down my questions in advance?
This is the one preparation step that actually changes how useful a reading is. A reading that starts from "tell me about my life" tends to stay general. A reading that starts from two or three specific questions, career timing, a relationship decision, a recurring pattern you keep noticing, goes deeper into the parts of the chart that answer them. You do not need a long list. Two or three real questions beat ten vague ones.
Do I need to know any astrology terms beforehand?
No. Terms like lagna, dasha, or rashi are explained as they come up, in the context of your own chart, which is a faster way to learn them than reading a glossary first. Arriving without vocabulary is normal and does not slow the session down.
What should I NOT bring or worry about?
You do not need every family member's birth details for a first reading about yourself, a stack of old readings to compare against, or an existing verdict you are hoping to have confirmed. A reading works best when it starts from the chart, not from a conclusion you have already reached and are checking against it.
Is there anything I should do the day before?
Nothing special. There is no fasting, ritual, or preparation required to receive an accurate reading. The only genuine preparation is having your correct birth details ready and, if possible, having thought about what you actually want to leave the session understanding.
What if I am not sure my birth time is correct?
Say so at the start rather than partway through. An uncertain birth time is common, not a disqualifying problem, and it changes how the reading is approached rather than whether it can happen at all.
